The resort’s crown jewel is its pool complex with a 21-foot slide, rope swing, waterfalls, 500-foot lazy river, swim-up bar, and jacuzzi. For those with younger kids, there’s the zero-entry Kiddie Lagoon with its slides, climbing features, and giant water dump. There is also a Wibit Sports Park floating obstacle course and FlowRider wave simulator for surfing.

Huntsville State Park Campground sits in the middle of the East Texas Pineywoods, just a short drive north of Houston.

Within the boundaries of the Sam Houston National Forest, this 2,083-acre park, originally developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, centers around the serene 210-acre Lake Raven where campers can fish and swim while surrounded by towering loblolly pines and diverse hardwoods.

The campground has 154 sites, with 23 offering full hookups in Raven Hill with pull-through access and lengths ranging from 38 to 80 feet. There are also 77 water/electric sites spread between Coloneh and Prairie Branch with 20/30/50-amp service and varying site lengths. Finally, for budget-minded campers or those who prefer a more primitive site, there are 54 water-only sites in Coloneh, each with picnic tables, fire rings, and access to restrooms with hot showers.

Midway Park Campground is located on the southeast shore of Waco Lake.

The campground features well-maintained sites with paved parking pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. Eleven sites have full hookups with water, electricity, and sewer, while an additional 21 sites offer water and electricity only. All campers have access to accessible flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station.

With direct access to Waco Lake, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water including boating, swimming, and fishing. For fishing it’s particularly great for Anglers, thanks to the lake’s submerged timber that creates a prime habitat for catfish, crappie, large and smallmouth bass, and sunfish.

The campground’s boat ramp and dock also provide easy water access for motorized and non-motorized watercraft.
