The Forest River R-Pod is one of the most popular campers on the road today.
Due to the R-Pod’s compact size, lightweight construction, stylish design, and affordable pricing.
However, because of the camper’s smaller size and lighter weight, RVers often wonder whether the R-Pod has a bathroom.
As compact lightweight RVs, such as teardrop campers and stand-up campers often lack a bathroom, due to a lack of space or to save weight.
So, does the R-Pod have a bathroom?
All Forest River R-Pod trim levels are equipped with a bathroom, except for the newest and smallest RP-107 teardrop.
However, the type, size, and amenities of the bathroom can vary substantially from one trim level to the next.
For example, some R-Pods offer a large dry bath while others only offer a small wet bath.
So if you’re thinking about purchasing a Forest River R-Pod and curious about the type of bathroom it offers, make sure to keep reading.
As we created the below table.
Which lists every current R-Pod trim level available, and its corresponding size, weight, bathroom type, and sleeping capacity.
Plus, as a bonus, we also highlight the most popular R-Pods, by offering a more in-depth review of the camper and its bathroom.

Most Popular Forest River R-Pods and Their Bathrooms
Now that we have an overview of the type of bathroom offered on each R-Pod trim level, let’s take a closer look at the bathroom design and amenities on some of the most popular R-Pod trim levels.
1. Forest River R-Pod RP-171
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $23,000
- Length: 19 Feet
- Dry Weight: 2,714 Pounds
- Bathroom: 3-Piece Wet Bath
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
- Slide-Outs: None
Without a doubt, the Forest River R-Pod RP-171 is the most popular R-Pod available, thanks to its perfect blend of size and capability.
Because despite the trailer’s smaller size (third smallest R-Pod) and lighter weight, it still has all the features of a larger and heavier travel trailer.
Including a four-person sleeping capacity, a well-equipped kitchenette, and most important for this blog post, a full three-piece wet bath.

And thanks to its smaller size and lighter weight, the RP-171 is able to be towed by a wide variety of vehicles, including small trucks, compact SUVs, and even some 4-cylinders.
Plus, with an average cost of only $23,000, the RP-171 is also one of the most affordable travel trailers available.
Speaking to its bathroom though, the R-Pod 171 has a standard mid-three-piece wet bath for a camper of its size.
With a dedicated wet space in the middle of the trailer about the size of a small closet.
That will get the job done for weekend getaways and shorter camping trips.
If you’re planning on extended camping trips of more than a few days though, you might want to consider a larger R-Pod, with a larger dry bath.
As small wet baths can be challenging and annoying to use for extended periods, due to their cramped nature and combined configuration.
If you’re looking for a small, lightweight camper with a bathroom though, the R-Pod RP-171 is definitely worth checking out.

Another popular R-Pod trim level is the RP-202, which is on the opposite end of the size range from the above RP-171.
Because while the RP-171 is one of the smallest R-Pods, the RP-202 is one of the largest.
In fact, the RP-202 is the second largest R-Pod that Forest River makes, with a total length of 25 feet and a dry weight of 4,574 pounds.

Allowing the camper to offer features and amenities not possible on the RP-171, due to its larger size.
Including such features as a large rear kitchen with a pantry, a slide-out that accommodates a four-person dinette booth, and a walk-around short RV queen bed, with dual wardrobes and nightstands.
One of the best features the Forest River R-Pod 202 is able to offer though, thanks to its larger size is its split three-piece dry bath.
As the bathroom offers a large walk-in shower and separate toilet on one side and a good size vanity and linen closet on the other.
And because the bathroom is a split bath located in the middle of the trailer, it provides a nice buffer and sound barrier between the rear living area and the private front bedroom.
Providing more privacy for the front bedroom and allowing someone to stay up in the rear living area without disturbing anyone in the front of the camper trying to sleep.

3. Forest River R-Pod RP-193
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $24,000
- Length: 22 Feet 11 Inches
- Dry Weight: 3,654 Pounds
- Bathroom: Hybrid 3-Piece Wet/Dry Bath
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
- Slide-Outs: 1
There are three unique features that set the Forest River R-Pod RP-193 apart from other R-Pods, which include its rear bunk beds, front Murphy bed, and ample seating.
All of which, help to make the R-Pod 193 one of the most unique and popular trim levels available.
Starting first with its bunk beds, the RP-193 is one of only two R-Pods that offer bunk beds.
Positioned in the back rear corner of the camper, the R-Pod 193 has two single bunk beds that measure 26 inches by 74 inches.
Which is always a kid favorite, as it provides a private space inside the trailer to enjoy all their own.

Moving on from the bunk beds, the R-Pod RP-193 is also one of only three trim levels that offer a Murphy bed.
Which allows the front of the trailer to act as a bedroom at night and a living room during the day.
Because when the front Murphy bed is lifted out of the way, it reveals a large couch underneath.
Leading us to the last unique feature of the camper, which is all the seating it offers.
Because not only does the living space have a large couch but it also offers an open dinette area as well, with a removable table.
Providing seating for up to six at a time, which is pretty impressive for the size of the camper.
Because this blog post is all about the R-Pod bathroom though, we still need to talk about the bathroom offered on this R-Pod.
And as you might expect even the bathroom is unique on this trim level.
As the R-Pod RP-193 offers a hybrid three-piece wet/dry bath, which has a separate dry toilet but a combined shower/bathroom sink.

Which made it one of the most popular R-Pod trim levels available.
However, even after the RP-107 took the honor of being the smallest and lightest R-Pod available, the RP-153 still remains one of the most popular R-Pods out there.
As the Forest River R-Pod RP-153 offers not only a walkable interior but also a full three-piece dry bath, unlike the RP-107.
In fact, the R-Pod RP-153 is one of the smallest campers you can buy that still offers a dry bath.

This compact travel trailer offers more than just a walkable interior and bathroom though.
Because despite its shorter length and smaller size Forest River still managed to pack in a ton of features and amenities.
Including such features as a three-person sleeping capacity, a convertible dinette booth, a full-featured kitchen, and even a large comfortable couch.
Since this blog post is all about the R-Pod bathroom though, it’s important that we highlight the bathroom on the RP-153, which is quite impressive considering how small the trailer is.
As the R-Pod 153 as mentioned above, offers a full three-piece dry bath, with a separate stand-up shower, toilet, and bathroom vanity.
Plus, the well-equipped bathroom also offers a good amount of counter space and storage as well, with a built-in medicine cabinet.

As the R-Pod 180 is always a crowd favorite among RV shoppers.
As the trailer offers a nice compromise between the smallest and largest R-Pod trim levels.
By offering a smaller size and lighter weight compared to the largest R-Pods, while at the same time offering more space and features compared to the smallest R-Pods.
Forest River R-Pod RP-180 Floorplan
For example, despite the shorter length of 20 feet and lighter weight of 3,447 pounds, the RP-180 is still able to offer many of the same features that the largest R-Pods offer.
Including such features as a large fixed east-to-west RV queen bed, a separate convertible dinette booth, and a well-equipped galley on a slide-out, which really helps to open up the interior of the camper.
The real show stopper on this mid-size R-Pod though, has to be its large rear dry bath, which is one of the largest and nicest bathrooms offered on the R-Pod.
As it spans the entire back wall of the camper and includes a separate shower, toilet, and bathroom vanity.
As well as ample floor space for moving around and plenty of storage space.
