1. Palomino Rogue EA-1

Palomino has three different truck camper lineups to choose from, including the Backpack, the Real Lite, and the Rogue.

With the Rogue being their most compact, lightest, and cheapest truck camper option.

And the Rogue is available in four different models including the EA-1, the EA-2, the EB-1, and the EB-2.

However, the only real difference between the EA models and the EB models is their color scheme, as both the EA and EB Rogue Palominos have the same lengths, weights, and floorplans.  

So whether you choose the EA-1 or the EB-1, just know that they are the exact same camper with the exception of their color, as the EA-1 Rogue truck camper features a blue, grey, and black exterior color scheme, while the EB-1 features an orange, grey, and black exterior color scheme.

2. Palomino Rogue EB-2

The Palomino Rogue EB-2 is very similar in design to the Rogue EA-1.

As it offers many of the same features and the same single-pivot-powered pop-top design.

But where the two differ is in their overall size, as the EA-1 from above is designed for larger trucks, while the EB-2 is designed for smaller mid-size trucks such as the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and the Chevrolet Colorado.  

As the EB-2 is more than 150 pounds lighter compared to the EA-1 and has a much narrower profile on the floor so that it can fit into smaller mid-size truck beds.

Despite the smaller and more compact size of the EB-2, however, there is really very little price difference between the larger EA-1 and smaller EB-2, as they both have the same average price of $15,000.

Which means there really isn’t any cost savings for going with the smaller and more compact Rogue EB-2.

So if you’re trying to decide between the larger EA-1 or EB-1 and the smaller EA-2 or EB-2, you should choose the camper that best fits your truck and truck bed.

3. Palomino Backpack SS-500

The Palomino Backpack SS-500 is one of the most affordable and light-weight pop-up truck campers that Palomino makes, with an average cost of just $18,000 and a dry weight of only 1,197 pounds. 

Designed for compact and mid-size trucks, the Backpack SS-500 is best suited for smaller lightweight trucks such as the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and the GMC Canyon.  

However, despite its more compact and lightweight design the Palomino Backpack SS-500 still manages to provide a ton of comfort features and amenities including a queen-size bed, a full-featured kitchenette with a two-burner cooktop, a small kitchen sink, and a mini-fridge, as well as a u-shaped dinette booth that provides lots of seating space.

4. Palomino Backpack SS-550

The Palomino Backpack SS-550 is very similar in design to the SS-500 from above, with the exception of its overall size and floorplan.

As the SS-550 is larger and heavier compared to the SS-500, as it’s designed for 1/2 ton trucks with a truck bed that’s at least 5 foot 6 inches or longer.

But as was the case with the Palomino Rogues from above, there is very little difference in price between the SS-500 and the SS-550, as they both have an average price of around $18,000.

So when deciding between the two, it’s best to go with the truck camper that best fits your truck size and truck bed.
