Class A motorhomes are known for many things, including spacious interiors, ample storage, high sleeping capacities, and luxury features.
One thing Class A RVs are typically not known for though is their small size.
As Class A RVs are generally the largest type of motorhome you buy, with some of the largest coming in at more than 40 feet long.
Just because Class A RVs are generally the largest though that doesn’t mean there are no small Class A options.
As there are actually many smaller Class A RVs with lengths of less than 30 feet, putting them on par with Class C RVs and even some Class B RVs.
If you’re wondering what the smallest Class A RVs are though, you’ve come to the right place.
Because in this blog post will be highlighting the 10 smallest Class A RVs you can buy.

Quick Specs

- Length: 25 Feet 8 Inches (Without Ladder)
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 12,500 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 11 Feet (With AC)
- Exterior Width: 7 Feet 10 Inches (Without Mirrors)
- Slide Outs: 1

The smallest Class A RV available today is the Thor Motor Coach Axis 24.1, which has a length of only 25 feet 8 inches.
Putting the motorhome’s length on par with many Class C and even some Class B RVs.
The Axis 24.1 is just the start of Thor’s small motorhome offerings though.
Because Thor doesn’t just make one small motorhome but multiple small motorhomes across two lineups and several different trim levels.
Including the Axis lineup, which includes the 24.1, the 24.3, the 24.4, and the 25.7 trim levels.
As well as the sister lineup, the Vegas, which also offers the 24.1, the 24.3, the 24.4, and the 25.7 (#2 on this list) trim levels.
All which offer some of the shortest lengths available for a Class A motorhome.
Making Thor Motor Coach one of the industry leaders in small Class A RV production.
Thor Motor Coach Axis 24.1 Floorplan
Speaking specifically about the Thor Axis 24.1 though, this compact Class A RV is rivaled in length only by the Axis 24.4 and the Vegas 24.4.
Despite its shorter length, however, the 24.1 still offers a surprising amount of features and amenities.
Starting with the motorhome’s five-person sleeping capacity.
As the Thor Axis 24.1 offers four separate sleeping areas, including a drop-down overhead bunk, a sofa bed, and rear twin beds that can be converted into one large king-size bed.
In addition, the motorhome also offers numerous comfort and convenience features, including a full-featured kitchen, a three-piece dry bath, and a good amount of interior and exterior storage space.
And thanks to the RV’s slide-out, the motorhome actually has a pretty spacious feel inside, despite its smaller size and shorter length.

2. Thor Motor Coach Vegas 25.7
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $112,000
- Length: 26 Feet 9 Inches (Without Ladder)
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 14,500 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 11 Feet (With AC)
- Exterior Width: 7 Feet 10 Inches (Without Mirrors)
- Slide Outs: 1
- Sleeping Capacity: 5
As mentioned above, the Thor Vegas is the sister RV to the Thor Axis.
And the largest version of both models is the 25.7 trim level, which has a total length of 26 feet 9 inches, not counting the rear ladder.
Even the largest version of the Thor Vegas though is still the second smallest Class A RV on this list.
In fact, the motorhome is more than 2 feet shorter compared to the next smallest Class A RV.
Thor Motor Coach Vegas 25.7 Floorplan
As was the case with the Axis 24.1 from above though, the Vegas 25.7 still offers tons of features and amenities.
Just in a slightly different floor plan.
As the Vegas 25.7 has a queen-size bed as opposed to two twin beds, and a rear bath as opposed to a mid bath, which provides more space for the main living area.
Plus the Vegas 25.7 also offers a slightly larger slide compared to the Axis 24.1, which helps to open up the interior of the coach a little more.
Perhaps the biggest difference between these two similar motorhomes though is the rear storage area offered on the Vegas 25.7.
Because while both RVs offer ample interior and exterior storage space, the Thor Vegas 25.7 takes storage to a whole new level, by offering a flip-up rear queen bed and a large rear access door.
Allowing you to use a large portion of the back of the RV to store larger items inside the coach, such as bikes, kayaks, and e-bikes.

3. Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $100,000
- Length: 29 Feet
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 16,000 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 12 Feet
- Exterior Width: 8 Feet 6 Inches
- Slide Outs: None
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
The third smallest Class A RV is the Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS, which has a length of just 29 feet and a gross vehicle weight rating of 16,000 pounds.
The motorhome’s small size isn’t the only thing that makes this compact RV unique though.
As the Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS is also one of the cheapest Class A motorhomes you can buy.
And the only current model year of a Class A RV with no slide-outs.
Making the Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS ideal for those looking for a budget-friendly and easy-to-manage Class A RV.
Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS Floorplan
Despite its smaller size and lack of a slide-out though, the Pursuit 27XPS still offers plenty of features and amenities.
Including a comfortable main living area with an L-shaped kitchen, complete with a large double-door refrigerator, three-burner cooktop/oven, microwave, and plenty of counter space.
As well as a split three-piece dry bath, with a stand-alone 24-inch by 32-inch shower on one side and a water closet on the other, with a toilet, bathroom vanity, and large linen cabinet.
Perhaps the best feature of the Pursuit 27XPS though, especially considering its smaller size is its large rear private suite.
As the 27XPS offers one of the nicest owners suites available on a Class A RV that’s less than 30 feet.
Thanks to the suite’s walk-around north-to-south queen bed, large opposing windows, full-length accordion privacy door, and ample storage space with dual wardrobes and nightstands.

4. Fleetwood Flair 28A
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $130,000
- Length: 29 Feet 3 Inches
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 16,000 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 12 Feet 4 Inches
- Exterior Width: 8 Feet 4 Inches
- Slide Outs: 2
- Sleeping Capacity: 6
While the Fleetwood Flair 28A is only three inches longer compared to the above Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS, it offers a whole other level of comfort, thanks to its two slides.
As the two slide-outs allow the Flair 28A to offer a more spacious and open interior as well as more interior walk space.
Plus, a higher sleeping capacity, as the motorhome can accommodate more sleeping areas.
Including a rear east-to-west king-size bed, a large dream dinette booth, a jackknife sofa, and an electric hide-a-loft bed over the cab.
Fleetwood Flair 28A Floorplan
Slide-outs aren’t the only stand-out feature on the Fleetwood Flair 28A though, as the motorhome also offers numerous upgrades as well.
Including such premium features as heated freshwater/holding tank compartments, slam latch baggage doors, frameless windows, an entertainment center with LED TV, and automatic hydraulic leveling jacks on the exterior.
As well as a quiet ducted AC system, a residential refrigerator, night roller shades, two standard LED TVs, and upgraded materials/finishes on the interior.

- Average Cost: $130,000
- Length: 29 Feet 3 Inches
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 16,000 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 12 Feet 4 Inches
- Exterior Width: 8 Feet 4 Inches
- Slide Outs: 2
- Sleeping Capacity: 6
If the above Fleetwood Flair 28A and the Holiday Rambler Admiral 28A seem very similar, it’s for good reason.
As these two Class A RVs not only share the same floorplan and average price, but they’re also both made by the same company.
As both the Flair 28A and the Admiral 28A are produced by REV Group Inc, which not only owns the RV brands Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler but also Monaco Coach, American Coach, Renegade RV, and Lance.
However, despite their many similarities, the Flair 28A and the Admiral 28A can’t quite be considered sister RVs, like the above Axis and Vegas lineups.
Because unlike the Axis and the Vegas, which are both produced by Thor Motor Coach, the Flair, and the Admiral are produced under two different RV brands, Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler respectively.
Holiday Rambler Admiral 28A Floorplan
In addition, REV Group Inc also states that while together the group is a celebration of the rich heritage and future promise of the greatest manufacturers in the RV industry, each brand remains distinct.
Regardless of what you call the two RVs though, there is no doubt that they are pretty much a carbon copy of each other.
As both the Flair 28A and the Admiral 28A have the exact same floorplan and layout, the exact same sleeping arrangements and capacity, and the same features and construction.
In fact, the only thing that really separates the two RVs, much like sister RVs is their branding and slightly different exterior and interior color schemes.

6. Jayco Alante 27A

- Length: 29 Feet 11 Inches
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 18,000 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 12 Feet 5 Inches (With AC)
- Exterior Width: 8 Feet 5 Inches
- Slide Outs: 2
- Sleeping Capacity: 6
Coming in at just under 30 feet, the Jayco Alante 27A has a similar floorplan to the Fleetwood Flair 28A (#4 on the list) and the Holiday Rambler Admiral 28A (#5 on the list).
As the Jayco Alante 27A also offers two separate slides, a rear east-to-west king-size bed, an L-shaped kitchen, and lots of seating and sleeping space.
Thanks to the motorhomes convertible dinette booth, jackknife sofa, and swivel captain chairs in the front cab area.
Which provides seating for up to eight and sleeping space for up to six.
Jayco Alante 27A Floorplan
The similarities don’t stop there though, as the exterior of the Alante 27A also has many similar features compared to the Flair 28A and the Admiral 28A.
Including such features as a fiberglass exterior with vinyl graphics, a fiberglass front cap, and frameless windows.
As well as automatic hydraulic leveling jacks, an exterior enclosed utility center, and an onboard generator.
Because the Alante 27A is a Jayco RV though, the motorhome does offer a few Jayco exclusives.
Including such upgrades as JRide, which equips the motorhome with specific handling and stability enhancements, and JAYCOMMAND, which allows you to monitor and control the RV from just about anywhere on a phone or a tablet.
For additional info on the Jayco Alante 27A, and to see a 3D tour of the interior, check out Jayco’s website by clicking here.
7. Entegra Coach Vision 27A
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $135,000
- Length: 29 Feet 11 Inches
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 18,000 Pounds
- Exterior Height: 12 Feet 5 Inches (With AC)
- Exterior Width: 8 Feet 5 Inches
- Slide Outs: 2
- Sleeping Capacity: 6
In 2008 Entegra Coach became a member of the Jayco group, which goes a long way to help understand why the Entegra Coach Vision 27A looks so much like the above Jayco Alante 27A.
Because while the Vision 27A and the Alante 27A are not technically sister RVs, as they’re produced under different brands, they might as well be.
As both Class A RVs have the same floorplan, the same dimensions/weights, and for the most part, the same features and amenities.
Entegra Coach Vision 27A Floorplan
Starting with the coach’s six-person sleeping capacity and arrangements.
Which includes a drop-down overhead bunk, a convertible dinette booth, a jack-knife sofa, and an east-to-west king-size bed on a slide-out.
In addition, the Entegra Coach Vision 27A also has the same kitchen design as the Jayco Alante 27A.
As the motorhome offers an L-shaped kitchen with a large double-door 10 cubic-foot fridge, a three-burner propane cooktop, a large residential microwave, and lots of counter space and cabinets.
Plus, the Vision 27A also has a very similar rear corner three-piece dry bath, with a vanity, toilet, and large 30-inch by 36-inch shower.
For being so similar though, you might have noticed that the Vision 27A has a slightly higher average price compared to the Alante 27A.
As the Entegra Coach Vision 27A on average cost about $5,000 more compared to the Jayco Alante 27A.
This in my opinion is due to the slightly nicer finishes found on the Vision 27A compared to the Alante 27A.
Because while they both offer many luxury features and comparable fit and finish, I would have to give a slight edge to the Vision 27A.

Providing unparalleled interior space inside the motorhome, especially for one that’s only 30 feet in length.
Winnebago Vista 29V Floorplan
And because of this, the Vista 29V offers features and amenities not usually found on smaller Class A RVs.
Including a spacious owner’s suite with a fixed king-size bed and a full wall of cabinetry as well as a spacious dry bath with ample counter space and a dedicated storage cabinet.

As well as premium high-gloss sidewalls, a one-piece fiberglass roof, frameless tinted windows, and an entertainment center with a 39-inch TV on the exterior.

As most Class A RVs are not able to offer outdoor kitchens, due to their interior and exterior design elements.
