The Winnebago EKKO is one of the most exciting RVs to hit the market in recent years.
As it’s completely flipped the RV industry on its head, by redefining what a Class B and Class C RV can be.
By combining these two RV Classes together, to create an entirely new type of RV.
Which is probably why people have a hard time defining the EKKO because while Winnebago calls the EKKO a Class C, many refer to the EKKO as a Class B or Class B+.
Regardless of what you call the EKKO though, one thing everyone can agree on is that it’s one of the most sought-after and popular small motorhomes on the market today.
But if you’re thinking about buying a Winnebago EKKO though, you’re probably wondering what one costs.
The Winnebago EKKO has an MSRP of $171,845, however, most RV dealers have the EKKO priced between $165,000 and $175,000 depending on options and features, with an average retail price of $170,000.
If you’re looking for a more detailed answer though make sure to keep reading.
As we go over not only what affects the price of the Winnebago EKKO but also how the EKKO compares in price to other Class B+ and Class C RVs.
What Affects the Price of the Winnebago EKKO
Because the Winnebago EKKO is so new, with production only starting in 2021, there’s not a lot of variation from one EKKO to the next.
As there is currently only one trim level and floorplan available for the EKKO, which is the EKKO 22A.
Because of this, there’s not a lot of factors that affect the price of the RV.
However, there are a handful of options that can add additional cost to the Winnebago EKKO, which we’ve highlighted below.
Front Cab Air Mattress
The Winnebago EKKO is only capable of sleeping two campers at a time in its standard twin-bed configuration.
However, the EKKO can be optioned with a 30-inch by 65-inch front cab air mattress that provides an additional sleeping space inside the RV.
Allowing the EKKO to sleep up to three campers.
Pop-Top Sleeping Loft
For those that need even more sleeping capacity, the Winnebago EKKO can also be optioned with a pop-top sleeping loft with a FROLI sleeping system and 110/USB charging ports.
Allowing the EKKO to sleep an additional two campers.
Bringing the total sleeping capacity of the EKKO up to five, if you option the EKKO with the pop-top sleeping loft and the front cab air mattress.
However, be forewarned that five people is a lot of people in this small camper, as the EKKO is only a 23-foot motorhome.
Batwing Awning
While all Winnebago EKKO’s come standard with a power patio awning with LED light strip and Bluetooth control, the EKKO can also be optioned with what Winnebago refers to as a “batwing awning”.
Which is a rear L-shaped awning that can be manually deployed to provide additional covered space at the back driver side corner of the RV.
Which not only provides additional covered space to hang out under but also provides an awning for two of the three exterior baggage doors that provides access to EKKO’s large rear heated cargo area.
Allowing you to stay dry while retrieving items from the rear exterior cargo area during incremental weather.
Exterior Kitchen
All Winnebago EKKO’s come standard with a well-equipped interior kitchen that includes a 5.3 cubic foot 12V fridge, two-burner propane cooktop, microwave oven, and a stainless steel sink.
However, for those that wish to enjoy the great outdoors even more and keep the cooking smells out of the RV, Winnebago also offers an exterior kitchen option for the EKKO as well.
Which provides a chest-style 12V fridge/freezer combo, a 2-burner propane cooktop, a flip-up counter extension, a quick connect faucet and collapsible sink, and an LP quick connect hose.
Additional Off-Grid Power
One of the best things about the Winnebago EKKO is its off-grid capability, as it comes standard with three roof-mounted solar panels, 455 watts of solar power, standard lithium-ion batteries, and a powerful 2,000-watt pure sine wave inverter.
But if you’re looking for even more eco-friendly off-grid power, you can also option the EKKO with an additional 320-amp hour lithium-ion battery.
However, keep in mind that if you option the EKKO with an additional lithium-ion battery it requires the removal of the standard Cummins Onan QG 2,800i gas generator.
Which provides a nice backup off-grid power source on those cloudy rainy days or when you have the RV parked in the shade.
Luggage Rack
While the Winnebago EKKO offers a good amount of exterior and interior storage, especially when compared to smaller standard Class B RVs.
The EKKO can be optioned with even more storage, thanks to the optional roof-mounted luggage rack.
Keep in mind though that if you option the EKKO with the luggage rack, you cannot add the pop-top sleeping loft to the RV.
Entertainment Center
The last item that can add additional cost to the EKKO is the optional entertainment center.
As the Winnebago EKKO can be optioned with an entertainment center that adds a 24-inch HDTV, a Blue-Ray disc player, and a soundbar.
However, it’s doubtful that the entertainment center will cost you anything extra if you buy the EKKO from an RV dealer’s inventory.
As most RV dealers option the EKKO with the entertainment center automatically, without adding any additional cost to the end buyer.
Winnebago EKKO Cost Compared to Other Class B+ and Class C RVs
While there really is no direct comparison to the one-of-a-kind Winnebago EKKO, there are several Class B+ and Class C RVs that offer similar features and benefits.
So we thought we should compare these RVs to the price of the Winnebago EKKO.

Why the Winnebago EKKO is so Special
As you can see from the above table, the Winnebago EKKO 22A is one of the most expensive Class B+/Class C motorhomes you can buy.
As only the Tiffin Wayfarer and Airstream Atlas had an average higher price.
However, it’s important to point out that while all the Class B+ and Class C RVs above have similar features and amenities to the EKKO, there really is no direct comparison to the EKKO, as it’s truly in a class of its own.
Thanks to the EKKO’s off-road, off-grid, and all-season capability.
Off-Road Capability
The Winnebago EKKO is one of the few Class B+/Class C RVs that offers decent off-road capability, thanks to its standard all-wheel-drive Ford Transit chassis.
Which not only provides superior traction but also excellent power.
As the EKKO is equipped with the fuel-efficient yet powerful Ford 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine, which delivers 310 horsepower and 400-pound feet of torque.
And thanks to its oversized 31-gallon fuel tank, you’ll always have enough fuel to get to even the most remote of campsites.
Off-Grid Capability
While all the Class B+ and Class C RVs from the above table have some level of off-grid capability, the Winnebago EKKO takes it to a whole new level.
By offering class-leading off-grid and boondocking capability.
Thanks to three large solar panels that produce 455 watts of solar power, premium lithium-ion batteries, a powerful 2,000-watt pure sine wave inverter, a second alternate dedicated to charging the house batteries, and an oversized 50-gallon freshwater tank.
Which allows you to go off-grid and stay off-grid for longer.
All-Season Capability
Perhaps one of the most special things about the Winnebago EKKO though is its all-season capability.
As the Winnebago EKKO is one of the few small motorhomes on the market today that offers true four-season capability.
Thanks to all its cold-weather features, including extensive all-season insulation in the roof, walls, and floor, dual-pane acrylic windows, and interior plumbing lines and holding tanks.
