1. Forest River R-Pod RP-171
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $23,000
- Length: 19 Feet
- Dry Weight: 2,714 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
- Bathroom: 3-Piece Wet Bath
- Slide Outs – None
Our first travel trailer under $30,000 is also the cheapest on the list, with an average cost of $23,000.
However, don’t let its affordable price fool you, because the Forest River R-Pod RP-171 still has all the same amenities as larger and more expensive campers.
Including such amenities as a bathroom, a fixed rear east-to-west RV queen bed, a front convertible dinette booth, and sleeping for up to four.
Plus, the camper also features a well-equipped kitchenette, with a two-burner propane stove, a refrigerator, a deep bowl sink, and even a convection microwave oven.
Forest River R-Pod RP-171 Floorplan
And because the RP-171 is so small and lightweight it can be towed by a variety of vehicles, including many compact SUVs, most small trucks, and even some 4-cylinders.
Making it a great choice for those that don’t have or want to invest in a full-size tow vehicle just yet.
In fairness though, because of the trailer’s compact size, the R-Pod 171 won’t be for everyone.
As the trailer is pretty small inside, as you can imagine with a length of only 19 feet and no slide-outs.
In addition, the wet bath with a combined shower, toilet, and sink can be a deal breaker for many.
As wet baths are generally very cramped and can be challenging to use, especially on longer camping trips.
If you don’t mind the smaller size and bathroom limitations though, you should definitely check out the Forest River R-Pod RP-171.
As the trailer provides many of the features and amenities as its larger counterparts, just in a smaller more affordable package.

Making it one of the most budget-friendly Winnebago campers you can buy.
Winnebago Hike 100 H1316FB Floorplan
Built for those looking for a small lightweight camper, the Hike 100 H1316FB definitely fits the bill.
As the trailer has a total length of only 15 feet 11 inches and a dry weight of just 3,178 pounds.
Which like the R-Pod 171 from above, allows the Hike 100 H1316FB to be pulled by less capable tow vehicles, including SUVs and smaller trucks.
Despite its smaller size though, Winnebago still managed to pack numerous features into the compact camper.
Including a rear east-to-west RV queen bed, a three-piece wet bath, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a single loft bed at the rear.
Which gives the trailer a three-person sleeping capacity.
Where this trailer really shines though is on the exterior.
Because not only does the Hike 100 H1316FB offer all the standard RV exterior features, such as a powered patio awning, an outdoor shower, and rearview backup camera prep, but it also offers several exterior upgrades as well.
Including such upgrades as a power tongue jack, power stabilizer jacks, an enclosed underbelly, and a rear outdoor kitchen.

Offering a very similar floorplan to the above Coachmen Catalina Summit Series 8 261BHS (#3), the KZ RV Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE is another 30-foot travel trailer under 30K big on space and sleeping capacity.
As the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE offers a spacious main living area with a large slide-out and up to an eight-person sleeping capacity.
Thanks to double rear bunks, a convertible dinette booth, and a queen bed located in a private front bedroom with dual wardrobes and nightstands.
KZ RV Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE Floorplan
A spacious interior and a high sleeping capacity isn’t the only thing this large affordable travel trailer has going for it though.
Because like the Summit Series 8 261BHS from above, the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE has all the comforts and amenities of home.
Allowing you to travel and camp without leaving any modern amenities behind.
As the Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE offers a full-featured L-shaped kitchen with a large peninsula as well as a built-in pantry, allowing you to stock the trailer with weeks worth of food.
In addition, this trailer also offers a rear corner dry bath, with a separate shower, toilet, and bathroom sink, just like at a home.
And because the trailer offers three separate living/sleeping spaces, which can be used as three bedrooms, there’s plenty of room for everyone to spread out inside the trailer.
Which really comes in handy on rainy days and longer camping trips.

Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $27,000
- Length: 22 Feet
- Dry Weight: 3,320 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
- Bathroom: 2-Piece Dry Bath
- Slide Outs – None
While the KZ RV Escape E17 Hatch is made by the same RV manufacturer and has the same average price as the above trailer, the two campers couldn’t be more different.
Because while the above Sportsmen SE 271BHKSE was built for max comfort and convenience, the Escape E17 was built for adventure and boondocking.
Thanks to a variety of built-in features and amenities.
KZ RV Escape E17 Hatch Floorplan
Starting, first with its unique design, because while the E17 isn’t a full-size toy hauler it does offer many of the benefits of one.
Including such features as a large flip-up entry hatch and a rear flex area with D-rings that can hold tons of gear and sporting equipment.
And as an added bonus, the large flip-up hatch in the rear also acts like a second awning when up, providing cover from the outdoor elements.
Having a large rear access hatch and all this extra space for gear doesn’t do you any good though if you can’t get off the beaten path for extended periods of time.
Luckily though, the Escape E17 Hatch excels at this as well.
As the camper offers an optional off-grid/off-road package, which includes such features as a 100-watt roof-mounted solar panel, a 1,000-watt inverter, aluminum wheels with mud tires, extra ground clearance, and heated holding tanks.

7. Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro G20BHS
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $27,500
- Length: 21 Feet 8 Inches
- Dry Weight: 3,547 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: 6
- Bathroom: Hybrid 3-Piece Wet/Dry Bath
- Slide Outs – 1
One of the most popular travel trailers under $30,000 is the Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro G20BHS, especially for families.
As the Geo Pro G20BHS is one of the best bunkhouse travel trailers on the market for the price.
Not only for its best-in-class rear corner bunk beds, which offer two single bunks outfitted with windows, lights, and privacy curtains but also for all the other features the camper offers.
Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro G20BHS Floorplan
As the bunkhouse in this travel trailer is just the start of the upgrades this camper offers.
Because like all other Rockwood Geo Pros, the G20BHS offers numerous standard class-leading features.
Including such standard features as a 200-watt roof-mounted solar panel, a 1,000-watt inverter, tinted frameless windows, heated holding tanks, and a front windshield on the exterior.
As well as upgraded appliances with a 12-volt fridge and a gas oven, a quick recovery gas/electric water heater, roller shades, and a shower miser water saver to help conserve water.
Since we mentioned the shower on this trailer though, it’s probably a good time to talk about the camper’s unique bathroom.
As the Geo Pro G20BHS offers a distinctive hybrid three-piece wet/dry bath, which means that it has a separate toilet but a combined shower/bathroom sink.
Which is definitely inferior compared to a full three-piece dry bath.
However, if you’re looking for a smaller trailer that has it all with a ton of sleeping space, this might be a sacrifice you’re willing to make.
For more information on the Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro G20BHS and to see an interior tour, check out Forest River’s website by clicking here.
8. Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro E19FBS
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $28,500
- Length: 20 Feet 8 Inches
- Dry Weight: 3,375 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
- Bathroom: 3-Piece Dry Bath
- Slide Outs – 1
If the Flagstaff E-Pro looks a lot like the above Rockwood Geo Pro, there’s a good reason for this, as these two Forest River models are actually sister RVs.
This means they’re basically the same trailer just with different badging and color schemes.
So that RV dealers close to one another don’t have to compete on the same model.
Just know, though, whether you’re looking at the E-Pro or the Geo Pro, you’re looking at pretty much the same RV, as both models even have the same trim levels.
Including the above 20BHS, as well as the 19FBS, which is another popular trim level in both the E-Pro and the Geo Pro.
To see a review of the G19FBS, which is the counterpart to the E19FBS, check out our blog post “Forest River Geo Pro 19FBS (Full Review & Walkthrough)“.
Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro E19FBS Floorplan
As they both make the perfect couples trailer for those looking for a camper that offers the greatest amount of comfort and convenience in a small package for two.
Because despite its shorter length of just over 20 feet and its lighter weight of just over 3,000 pounds, the 19FBS offers every feature and amenity you could want.
Including a full-size queen bed, a comfortable sofa with a pull-out table, a well-equipped kitchen, a three-piece dry bath, and an entertainment center.
Plus, because this trailer’s an E-Pro, it offers all the same standard bells and whistles as the above Geo Pro.
Including solar power, an inverter, heated holding tanks, frameless windows, and upgraded appliances.
Also, just because this trailer is designed for couples doesn’t mean that it only offers a two-person sleeping capacity.
As the camper has a jackknife sofa, which can sleep another two, bringing the total sleeping capacity up to four.

- Length: 26 Feet 11 Inches
- Dry Weight: 5,577 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: 4
- Bathroom: 3-Piece Dry Bath

While Dutchmen may not be as well known as other RV brands, they actually have a wide range of affordable well-equipped travel trailers.
And one of the best examples of this is the 26-foot Dutchmen Aspen Trail 2260RBS, which is one of the most popular models and trim levels they sell.
To see other 26-foot campers, check out our blog post “10 Popular 26-Foot Travel Trailer Floor Plans“.
Dutchmen Aspen Trail 2260RBS Floorplan
And it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
Because the 2260RBS, with an average price of just under $30,000 is loaded with high-end features and upgrades, despite its more affordable price.
Starting, first with its private front bedroom, which offers a solid sliding door, a walk-around queen bed with storage underneath, and dual wardrobes/nightstands.
Moving from front to back.
The next area of the trailer is the spacious living room, which offers an upgraded L-shaped kitchen, a large U-shaped dinette booth, and an ingenious entertainment center/fireplace that pivots open to reveal a hidden pantry behind.
The real show stopper for this RV though has to be its best-in-class rear bathroom, which spans the entire back wall of the camper.
As the Dutchmen Aspen Trail 2260RBS bathroom is one of the nicest and largest bathrooms you’ll find in a 26-foot travel trailer.
Offering a ton of floor space, a stand-up shower with glass doors, an oversized RV bathroom vanity with a medicine cabinet, and a huge linen closet.

10. Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH
Quick Specs
- Average Cost: $29,000
- Length: 21 Feet 11 Inches
- Dry Weight: 4,049 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: 6
- Bathroom: 2-Piece Dry Bath
- Slide Outs – 1
Another travel trailer that comes in just under $30,000 is the Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH, which is the last camper on this list.
We definitely saved one of the best for last though, as the Micro Minnie 2100BH is another super popular model and trim level, especially for families.
Because like other trailers on this list, the 2100BH offers rear bunk beds, greatly increasing the sleeping capacity of this smaller camper.
From your more common four-person to an impressive six-person sleeping capacity.
Which is all the more impressive when you consider the trailer is only 21 feet long.
Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH Floorplan
Like the other bunkhouse trailers on this list though, this Winnebago Micro Minnie offers more than just a high sleeping capacity.
As the trailer offers many other desirable features and attributes.
Including a two-person fixed east-to-west bed, a full-featured kitchen, and either a four-person convertible dinette booth or an EZ Glide sleeper sofa on a slide-out.
Plus, because the camper is a Winnebago it also offers many standard upgrades as well, such as NXG engineered frame, FILON MAX fiberglass composite sidewalls with Azdel, a 200-watt solar panel, power stabilizer jacks, and 12-volt tank pad heaters.
As well as a JBL high-performance media center with JBL premium speakers, upgraded appliances, a large undermount stainless steel kitchen sink with a high-rise faucet, and a Winnebago all-in-one control panel.
No travel trailer is perfect though, and this Micro Minnie is no exception to the rule.
As there are always compromises that have to be made when shopping for an RV.
And the compromise on the 2100BH is that it doesn’t offer a three-piece bathroom.
As the trailer only offers a two-piece bathroom with no bathroom vanity or sink.
This means you’ll have to use the kitchen sink in the trailer as both the kitchen and bathroom sink.
Which is not the end of the world but definitely less than desirable.
If you can overlook this shortcoming though, the Micro Minnie 2100BH might just be a good fit for you and your family.
To see our in-depth review of the trailer, check out our blog post “Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH (Review & Walkthrough)“.
