The 10 Cheapest Class A RVs You Can Buy

Cheap Class A RV

Class A RVs have many benefits over other types of RVs such as additional interior space, higher sleeping capacities, more storage space, as well as higher towing capacities.

It’s worth mentioning though the 27XPS has no slide-outs, which is one of the ways that Coachmen was able to keep the cost of this Class A motorhome so low.

Even without a slide-out though, it still has a pretty roomy feel inside, thanks to its layout, which does a great job of maximizing the available space inside the RV.

The Axis RUV 24.1 is also one of the shortest Class A motorhomes you can buy, with a length of just 25 feet 8 inches, making it smaller than most Class C RVs and not too much longer than a Class B.

But what really makes this Class A RV unique though, is that it’s actually a crossover or hybrid Class A.

As this Class A is actually built on the Ford E-Series chassis, more commonly found on Class C motorhomes but is also designed to look and feel like a Class A RV.

Thor Motor Coach Axis RUV 24.1 Floorplan

Giving you the best of both worlds, as it offers a more compact size typically found on smaller Class C RVs but still offers excellent functionality and features that are more commonly found on Class A RVs.

The Thor Motor Coach Vegas RUV 25.6 has one of the largest interiors you will find in a Class A RV that’s less than 27 feet long, thanks to its full-body slide that runs almost the entire length of the motorhome past the cab.

Which is what makes this motorhome from Thor so special, as the Vegas RUV 25.6 is the shortest Class A RV on the market today that still offers a full-body slide.

Which gives this coach tons of space, that you don’t often find in a shorter compact Class A motorhome.

Thor Motor Coach Vegas 25.6 Floorplan

One thing you might have noticed though, about the Thor Vegas RUV 25.6 is that it looks an awful lot like the Thor Axis RUV 24.1 from above.

And that’s for good reason, as these two RVs are actually sister RVs.

As Thor Motor Coach makes the Thor Vegas RUV and the pretty much identical Thor Axis RUV so that RV dealers close to one another can sell different lines of RVs and not compete with each other directly on the same make and model RV.

So whether you are looking at the Thor Vegas 25.6 or the Thor Axis 25.6 just know that you are looking at the same RV, just with different badging.

And while this Class A RV from Entegra Coach is certainly not the cheapest Class A motorhome, in my opinion, this is the first affordable Class A motorhome that can actually be considered a luxury Class A.

Making it one of the most affordable and shortest Class A RVs you can buy.

Forest River FR3 30DS Floorplan

But beyond its affordable price and more compact size the other thing that makes this Class A RV so great is its very deep slide-outs in both the main living area and rear bedroom.

As these two deep slide-outs really help to open up the interior of this motorhome and provide some of the most expansive floor space, I’ve seen in a budget-friendly Class A RV.

And the Jayco Alante 26X is no exception to this rule despite its more affordable price.

As the Alante 26X, which is the cheapest Class A RV that Jayco makes, has the same level of quality and attention to detail as some of Jayco’s more expensive Class A motorhomes models such as the Precept, Precept Prestige, and the Embark.

Jayco Alante 26X Floorplan

Also, despite the Jayco Alante 26X’s smaller size, there is still plenty of room on the inside, thanks to its large slide-out in the main living area as well as its slide-out in the bedroom.

How Much is a Used Class A RV?

Used Class A RVs can be as cheap as $5,000 for a vintage motorhome in poor condition, to as much as a million dollars for an ultra-luxury high-end Class A motorhome.

So it can be challenging to narrow down a general price when it comes to used Class A RVs, due to the fact that used RVs can encompass such a wide range of RVs.

However, in general, an average used Class A RV in good condition that was built in the last 10 years will typically cost between $50,000 and $150,000.

As long as you steer clear of super long Class A RVs as well as luxury and premium RV brands such as Tiffin, Newell, and Liberty Coach.

And this can be seen by taking a look at the prices of the below used Class A RVs, which were pulled from rvtrader.com.

As Class A RVs will generally fit into one of three pricing categories, including budget, mid-range, and luxury.

What is the Cheapest Class A Diesel RV?

New RVers are often surprised at how much more a Class A diesel RV can cost compared to a Class A gas RV.

But when you look at the many benefits that a diesel Class A RV provides it’s no surprise that they command such a premium price.

As Class A diesel RVs generally provide better torque, offer better gas mileage, have higher towing capacities, require less frequent maintenance, last longer, and hold their value better compared to gas Class A RVs.

But if you’re shopping for a Class A diesel RV on a budget, you might be wondering what the cheapest Class A diesel RV is?

The cheapest Class A diesel RV is the Coachmen Sportscoach SRS 339DS, which has an average cost of $185,000 and an exterior length of 36 feet 3 inches.
