1. Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A

Quick Specs

  • Average Cost:  $85,000
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 17 Feet 10 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 8,550 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 3 (4 with Optional Front Cab Air Mattress)
  • Bathroom: Cassette Toilet Only

The Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A is the cheapest Class B RV you can buy, with an average cost of $85,000.

To see other super affordable Class B models, check out our blog post “The 10 Cheapest Class B RVs You Can Buy!“.

Designed for those looking for a simple and minimalist-style campervan.

The Solis Pocket 36A, which is the little brother to the Solis (#5 on this list), is built on the reliable RAM ProMaster chassis.

Which is the chassis pretty much every major RV manufacturer uses for their least expensive Class B models, due to its cheaper cost.

Just because the Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A is the cheapest and one of the smallest Class B options out there though, that doesn’t mean that it’s some stripped-down bare-bones campervan.

As the Solis Pocket 36A still has plenty of features and amenities to make your next camping trip comfortable as well as enjoyable.

Starting with the campervan’s three-person sleeping capacity that’s accomplished through a rear Murphy bed and a convertible dinette booth.

Which can be expanded to four, if you opt for the optional front cab air mattress that’s designed to lay over the front seats of the van.

The Solis Pocket 36A also offers a decent amount of storage space and a small kitchenette, with a two-burner propane cooktop, a 3 cubic foot 12V fridge, and a sink.

Plus, thanks to the Solis Pocket’s swivel front seats and ingenious convertible dinette booth with five different modes, this small campervan offers a surprising amount of seating.

Due to its cheaper price and smaller size though, as to be expected, Winnebago did have to make some cuts on the 36A to keep the price down and to fit everything in.

Most notably a lack of a bathroom.

As the Solis Pocket 36A only offers a cassette toilet that’s located under the convertible dinette booth.

In addition, the Solis Pocket also lacks a water heater, inverter, and generator.

Which might be a deal breaker for some.

2. Pleasure-Way Tofino

Quick Specs

  • Average Cost:  $85,500
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 17 Feet 9 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 8,550 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 4
  • Bathroom: None

While the above Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A is the cheapest Class B RV you can buy, the Pleasure-Way Tofino is a very close second.

As the Tofino has an average price of $85,500, making it just $500 more expensive compared to the Solis Pocket 36A.

Despite their similar price though, these two budget-friendly Class B RVs couldn’t be more different.

As the Pleasure-Way Tofino is one of the most unique Class B RVs on this list when it comes to design and layout.

Pleasure-Way Tofino Floorplan

Pleasure-Way Tofino Floorplan

Starting with the fact that it’s the only campervan on this list to use the low-roof RAM ProMaster chassis as opposed to the high-roof.

Which gives the campervan a lower profile as well as several advantages and disadvantages.

Because while the van does offer better clearance and an easier driving experience, it also has a much lower interior height, making it challenging to stand while inside the van.

Despite the Tofino’s lower roof though, Pleasure-Way still managed to pack in a ton of features, arguably in some cases even more than its high-roof counterparts.

As the Tofino is one of the few Class B RVs to offer a true four-person sleeping capacity.

Thanks to the campervan’s convertible sofa and pop-top sleeping loft.

To see other campervans that sleep four, check out our blog post “10 Amazing Class B RVs that Actually Sleep 4“.

Pleasure-Way Tofino Interior
Pleasure-Way

Beyond its high sleeping capacity though, the Tofino also offers a small kitchenette as well, with a sink, induction cooktop, and a small mini fridge.

As well as comfortable seating for four, both while traveling and while in camp mode.

Thanks to the van’s rear sofa and front seats, which can be swiveled around to face the interior of the van.

Like the above Solis Pocket 36A though, some sacrifices were made on the build-out, due to cost and space-saving measures.

As the Pleasure-Way Tofino has no bathroom of any kind and has no upper cabinetry.

However, thanks to Tofino’s rear storage area and optional roof rack, the lack of upper cabinetry is somewhat minimized.

3. Thor Motor Coach Scope 18M

Quick Specs

  • Average Cost:  $90,000
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 17 Feet 11 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 8,550 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom: 3-Piece Wet Bath

While the Thor Motor Coach Scope 18M isn’t the cheapest or even the second cheapest Class B RV, it is the cheapest self-contained Class B RV.

As the Thor Scope 18M is the first campervan on this list to offer a three-piece wet bath, with a combined shower, toilet, and pull-down sink.

Giving you the ability to camp off-grid in the backcountry, independent of campground facilities or external bathrooms.

A self-contained bathroom isn’t the only thing that allows you to camp off-grid with this economical boondocking campervan though.

Because the Scope 18M also offers robust off-grid power, with an Onan RV QG 2800 gas generator, two AGM house batteries, a 190-watt solar panel, and a 1,000-watt inverter to convert DC to AC power.

As well as a 24-gallon propane tank, an 18-gallon freshwater tank, and a Truma Combi Eco furnace and water heating system.

To see other Class B RVs great for backcountry camping like the Winnebago Revel, check out our blog post “10 Best Class B RVs for Boondocking and Dry Camping“.

Thor Motor Coach Scope 18M Interior

If there was one disadvantage to the Thor Scope 18M though, it would have to be its limited sleeping capacity.

As the Scope 18M is only able to sleep two campers at a time, which only allows solo travelers and couples to use the van.

Plus, if I’m being honest even the two-person sleeping capacity the van does offer is somewhat awkward to use, as it’s accomplished by a very difficult-to-convert pull-out bed.

To be fair though, in the world of small campervans, it’s expected that some sacrifices will have to be made in the name of convenience and size.

4. Thor Motor Coach Rize 18A

Quick Specs

  • Average Cost:  $92,000
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 17 Feet 11 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 8,550 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 2 – 4
  • Bathroom: 2-Piece Wet Bath

If the Thor Rize looks like the above Thor Scope, there’s a good reason for this.

As the Rize and Scope are actually sister RVs, which means they’re the same RV, except for their badging and a few minor styling differences.

And if you’re wondering why Thor would make sister RVs, this is actually a common practice in the RV industry.

As it allows different RV dealers, especially those close to one another to sell different RV models.

If that’s the case though, why did we include both a Thor Rize and a Thor Scope on this list?

Well, we did so, so that we could highlight another popular trim level of both the Rize and the Scope, which is the 18A.

Thor Motor Coach Rize 18A Floorplan

Thor Motor Coach Rize 18A Floorplan

Because while the 18A is slightly more expensive compared to the above 18M, for many it’s worth the extra cost, especially for families.

As the Rize and Scope 18A can actually sleep four at a time, as long as it’s equipped with the optional pop-top tent.

Making the Thor Rize 18A ideal for families of four.

Thor Motor Coach Rize 18A Interior

There is one drawback of the 18A over the 18M though, and that’s an inferior bathroom.

Because while they both offer a wet bath, the 18M offers a nicer and larger rear three-piece wet bath, while the 18A only offers a small mid-two-piece wet bath.

However, for those shopping for a Class B on a budget with extra sleeping capacity, this is a sacrifice that most are willing to make.

Because let’s be honest even the 18M’s bathroom is still pretty cramped and awkward to use.

So you’re not giving up that much in the way of bathroom functionality.

5. Winnebago Solis 59P

Quick Specs

  • Average Cost:  $93,000
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 19 Feet 9 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 8,900 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 4 (5 with Optional Front Cab Air Mattress)
  • Bathroom: 2-Piece Wet Bath

If you like the Winnebago name and the styling of the Solis Pocket 36A (#1 on this list), but want more creature comforts and space, you need to check out the Solis 59P.

As the Winnebago Solis 59P is the big brother to the above Solis Pocket 36A, offering more creature comforts as well as an extra two feet of living space.

All while still keeping the price under 100K, as the average cost of the Solis 59P is only $93,000.

To fully appreciate the difference between the Solis Pocket 36A and the larger Solis 59P though we need to take a closer look at the additional features offered on the 59P.

Starting with the differences in sleeping space and capacity.

Because while the Solis Pocket 36A only offers a standard three-person sleeping capacity, the Solis 59P offers a four-person sleeping capacity, thanks to the van’s pop-top sleeping loft.

Which makes the Winnebago Solis 59P much more popular with families.

Winnebago

In addition, the Solis 59P also offers a substantial bathroom upgrade.

As the Solis 59P offers an enclosed two-piece wet bath, with a combined shower and toilet.

As opposed to just a small porta potty, like on the Solis Pocket 36A.

One thing worth noting about the Solis 59P though is that it doesn’t offer any kind of roof-mounted air conditioner in the living area, due to the constraints of the pop-top.

Because of this, the only air conditioning inside the RV is from the RAM ProMaster’s cabin vents.

6. Entegra Coach Ethos 20T

Quick Specs

  • Average Cost:  $98,000
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 20 Feet 11 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 9,350 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom: 3-Piece Wet Bath

With an average cost of just under $100K, the Entegra Coach Ethos 20T offers one of the most popular and traditional Class B RV floorplans available.

As the Ethos 20T utilizes a twin bed layout, which provides a front kitchen/hangout area, mid-opposing 30-inch convertible twin beds, and a rear three-piece wet bath.

But just why is this twin bed layout so popular?

Well, there are many reasons, but the three biggest ones are the layout maximizes interior living space, provides good walkability, and gives the RV a much more open feel.

Which is why RV manufacturers have been using the twin bed layout for years now, especially in their smaller Class B offerings.

Entegra Coach Ethos 20T Floorplan

Beyond its twin bed layout though, other notable features of the Ethos 20T include an Onan 2,800-watt gas generator with auto start, a 13,500 BTU roof-mounted AC, and a 20,000 BTU Truma Combi Eco Plus water heater/furnace.

As well as a 1,000-watt inverter, lots of storage including a large wardrobe closet, and a Thule armless patio awning with an LED light strip.

Entegra Coach Ethos 20T Interior

It’s not all good news for the Ethos 20T though, as the RV only offers a two-person sleeping capacity due to the lack of a pop-top sleeping loft.

Because of this, the Ethos 20T is best for couples and single RVers and not families.

7. Coachmen Nova 20RB

Quick Specs

  • Starting Cost:  $99,000
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 20 Feet 11 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 9,350 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom: 3-Piece Wet Bath

Another twin bed Class B that squeaks under $100,000 is the Coachmen Nova 20RB, which has a starting price of $99,000.

Designed to offer maximum comfort and affordability for two, the Nova 20RB makes the perfect couples’ motorhome.

Thanks to the RV’s opposing twin beds, ample storage space, full-featured micro galley, and rear wet bath with a combined shower, toilet, and pull-down sink.

Coachmen Nova 20RB Floorplan

Coachmen Nova 20RB Floorplan

What really sets this Coachmen Class B apart from other budget-friendly Class B RVs though is all the upgrades it offers.

As the Coachmen Nova 20RB is loaded with premium features despite its more affordable price.

Offering class-leading features, such as solid hardwood cabinetry with frosted glass inserts, upgraded Q-Foam, and a high-end Truma Aventa 13,500 BTU A/C with 3 speeds, a dehumidifier, and night mode.

Plus, an upgraded electrical system, with a Firefly multiplex 2,000-watt Xantrex inverter, three 115AH AGM batteries, and dual 110-watt roof-mounted solar panels.

But that’s not all the premium features the Nova 20RB offers.

As the Nova 20RB also offers best-in-class cold weather capability.

Thanks to RV’s many cold weather features, including upgraded Rockwool R-15 insulation, dual pane acrylic windows with solar reflective pull-downs, Truma Combi Eco Plus furnace/water heating system, interior fresh and black water holding tanks, and interior water lines.

8. Jayco Swift 20T

Quick Specs

  • Starting Cost:  $99,500
  • Chassis: RAM ProMaster
  • Length: 20 Feet 11 Inches
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 9,350 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom: 3-Piece Wet Bath

The final Class B under 100K on this list is the Jayco Swift 20T, which has a starting price of $99,500.

Built on the RAM ProMaster chassis, the Swift 20T, like all campervans built on the ProMaster offers a nice blend of affordability and features.

Which is why so many RV manufacturers use the RAM ProMaster chassis for their affordable Class B models, as opposed to the Ford Transit or the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

Because despite being one of the most economical work van chassis available, the ProMaster lineup still offers plenty of performance, tech, and safety features.

Including the powerful yet fuel-efficient Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine, premium heavy-duty suspension, cockpit infotainment center, rear backup camera, forward collision warning with active braking, and blindspot monitoring.

Jayco Swift 20T Floorplan

Jayco Swift 20T Floorplan

Beyond its chassis though, this budget-friendly Class B offers a twin bed layout like the previous two Class B RVs.

Because of this, the Swift 20T floorplan offers a front kitchen/living area, opposing 30-inch twin beds, and a rear wet bath with a large wardrobe closet.

Plus, as you might expect from a Jayco, the Swift 20T also offers numerous upgrades and premium features.

Including such features as an Onan 2800-watt generator with auto start, a 1,000-watt inverter, 200-watt roof-mounted solar panels, Tecnoform European-style high gloss cabinetry, and residential vinyl flooring.

Jayco Swift 20T Interior

As well as several Jayco exclusive features, such as JRide, which improves handling and stability on the road, and JAYCOMMAND, which allows you to monitor and control the RV from just about anywhere with a phone or a tablet.

For more information on the Jayco Swift 20T and to see a 3D tour of the interior, check out Jayco’s website by clicking here.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, while Class B RVs can be very expensive, there are still many affordable options out there for those looking for a campervan under 100K.

From simple and minimalist options, like the Winnebago’s Solis Pocket 36A and the Pleasure-Way Tofino, to more premium luxury models, such as the Coachmen Nova 20RB and the Jayco Swift 20T.

It’s worth pointing out though, that before you buy any RV, it’s important to do your research and not just look at the price.

So you know exactly what features are available on each model and how they compare with others on the market.

As this will help to ensure you find the right RV for not only your budget but also your needs.

Regardless of which Class B RV you end up going with though, we hope this list has shown you that you don’t have to spend a fortune to buy a quality well-equipped campervan.
